I'm just saddend to see that an Item that you cant hold in your hand and has no solidity to it is added to that list. It's no less stupid or scary or shocking then fighting and killing over a clown nose or a bottle of hot sauce.

Agreed. And anybody with the mental capacity to kill someone over such an item was just a ticking time-bomb to go off over some random crap. It could've easily been an argument in a shop for being short-changed instead of the Legend Of Mir sword thing.

It wouldn't surprise me, honestly, if the guy was borderline psychotic or full on psychotic for a few years now.

This story came out while I was playing SWG...my guildmate had given his password to a friend of ours, who proceeded to log on and steal 9 million credits. He did tell the guy AFTER THE FACT but still, he was pretty mad. I remember sending him a link about this story, telling him "it's just a game!"...hehehe.

We used to regularly duel and kill each other over insults and honor. Killing each other over things with no solidity is nothing new.

Im not making excuses for anybody. Theres never a good reason to kill, for anything, but there ARE extreams of stupidity.

This stupidity is more extream then killing over land. That doesnt mean I understand it anymore then someone killing over funds in a bank, or because one insulted the other. It doesnt mean I support killing for the former over the latter, and i certainly hope you dont think thats what im saying.

People get dumber over time, the things they are willing to kill over become more rediculous. Its that simple.

Oh, I don't know if they're becoming more ridiculous. People have always killed each other for reasons I cannot fathom.

Wholesale slaughter of a culture because of philosophical differences springs to mind.

Just my opinion here but... If the virtual items are to belong to anyone, should they not belong to the devs who created them? As it has been said many times, "ideas" are just as virtual as items in a game... so since the items are just the ideas of the devs why are they not the owners? Now I know someone is going to come back with "But we payed for the game so that makes everything in it ours". My answer to that: there are many roads in Canada and the States that you have to pay to use... does that make the road yours? No. You can't just up and sell it at anytime, or modify it in anyway... You just get to use it for that short time that you are on it. So IMHO, its just a game! Games are ment to entertain... nothing to really get all worked up about...
